Mini Link: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080220-lessig-talks-to-ars-about-his-potential-run-for-congress.htmlLooks like I may have a new favorite Congressperson! He would be an amazing asset for the American people to have in their government. And personally, I think that if he runs, he will be a shoo-in in that district (Silicon Valley, basically).

I'm skeptical of his views on healthcare, public financing, and earmarks, but I doubt he's any worse on these than others who'd be elected in that district. So, that said, I'd be more than happy to see the seat go to a tech-saavy, pro-trade liberal.

I'm likely to agree with his views on Healthcare (I am capitalizing it for propaganda purposes) and public financing. What about his views on earmarks do you not like? I would have thought that banning earmarks would be ideal for you (since it limits the role of government).

I have no real opposition to the goal, I'm just not sure that it will work. The current reforms introduce greater transparency, and that might be the best we can hope for.
