Leonid Meteor Shower Coming Up

Mark your calendars, fellow nerds. The Leonid meteor shower is peaking Saturday night through Sunday morning, November 17 through 18. Best viewing will be 9:00pm-5:00am.

Note that they'll also be visible for a few days before and after. Oh, and the constellation Leo (for which the Leonid shower is named, and where the shower will be appearing) should be toward the North, which means that if you want to get away from the D.C. city lights, your only option is to travel West, since any other direction means that either D.C. or Baltimore will still be brightening the sky toward the shower.

Neither my boyfriend nor I am very good with dates, so I think the Leonids are the closest thing I have to an anniversary. hmm...I guess that's what happens when you're a dork.

That's really cute, Christy. Coincidentally, Sunday is my second anniversary with Jeanette. Our Saturday night plans are to go out to a really nice dinner, then see a movie, then watch meteors. Then we'll probably have sex.

hahaha...that's funny. Congrats, I hope you have a great anniversary.

I think my boyfriend and I got together more in the September time frame about 2 years ago. I KNOW we watched the Leonids together, though, so that's the closest I can come to pinning down a time. He's working in Nashville for a 2 week span right now (then he finally moves to Huntsville) and I'm going to be in Nashville this weekend. We could go to the tennis courts at his old apartment complex and watch the Leonids again like we did years ago. That would be really sweet. Thanks for the idea!
