View Comments | Post CommentGilbert And Sullivan show, with Jeanette as a lead
The Georgetown Law Gilbert & Sullivan Society's spring musical, "The Yeomen Of The Guard," is opening tonight. Maybe I'll post some pictures and stuff and about it after the show tonight, but until then, I wanted to let everyone know about it.
Jeanette is one of the two female leads. She plays "Elsie," who, like the other characters, gets involved in some silly plot having to do with love and execution. She sings songs such as "I Have A Song To Sing, O!" which seems a bit circular to me, as well as "When A Wooer Goes A-Wooing," which is at least alliterative, if nothing else. I can attest to Jeanette having a wonderful voice, and the set being quite cool and impressive, if not exactly immersive, though I can not yet vouch for anything else in the show. Nevertheless, it should be entertaining enough for all Georgetown Law kids to see at least once.
All dates are in the Hart Auditorium, 8pm.

I can attest to Gilbert and Sullivan's being utterly hilarious, with actually very well-written music (coming from someone who's played in the pit for Pirates of Penzance.

They had two bassoons in it. It was really good.
