The power of the written word

I killed a spider by hitting it with a book, as easily as if I were God himself.

"Verily shall I smite thee." These words alone I uttered to the spider before raining down my printed wrath. Twice did I visit blows upon him, and twice did he coil in desperate refuge. His futile last stand crumbled as my blows struck true. And after the last of his legs ceased twitching the life from his bulbous abdomen, his bilious monstrosity lay vanquished and fallen on the carpet of battle, an everlasting monument to the swift justice of his executioner.

Best of all, I did it without even losing my page. Anyway, it looked cool afterward.

I used to have a giant German dictionary I'd smite spiders with, though I'd usually throw it from a distance. It's hard for me to seem godlike when I'm chunking books that miss their mark and I'm screaming like a school girl.
